Magmatrek

Magmatrek is a cooperative society of volcanological guides established in 2002 in Stromboli, Aeolian island of Sicily. Principal activity of the society is the organization and managing of excursion on the volcano and around the island, and the fostering of a culture aimed to the respect and the understanding of the peculiar characteristics of the area, which is an UNESCO World Heritage Site. Aim of the communication has been to raise awareness of the new service, through the institutional identity, the informative material – folder, tabs, panels on the premises of the headquarter, the website. The name chosen is the most immediately identifiable possible: both “magma” and “trek” are understood all over the Western world.

Magmatrek è una società cooperativa di guide vulcanologiche nata nel 2002 a Stromboli, isola dell’arcipelago siciliano delle Eolie. Attività principale della cooperativa è l’organizzazione e la gestione di escursioni al vulcano e sull’isola, insieme alla diffusione di una cultura finalizzata al rispetto e alla comprensione delle caratteristiche assolutamente peculiari del territorio, dichiarato patrimonio dell’umanità dall’Unesco. Obiettivo della comunicazione è stato quello di far conoscere il nuovo servizio, attraverso l’identità istituzionale, il materiale informativo – folder, schede, pannelli nei locali della sede, il sito web. Il nome scelto è quello più identificabile immediatamente: “magma”, difatti, è lo stesso termine in inglese, francese, tedesco, italiano, “trek” è di facile comprensione ovunque in occidente.
